Applied research
Beyond the applied areas of nanomaterials and of biomedical applications other applied areas have included the photostability of pharmaceutical drugs, the photoyellowing of paper and sunscreen mechanisms. For many years we have explored the photochemistry related to photolithography, usually in partnership in partnership with major players in the chip manufacturing industry. Among these, a paper published in 2003 (C. Coenjarts, O. García, L. Llauger, J. Palfreyman, A. L. Vinette, J. C. Scaiano, "Mapping Photogenerated Radicals in Thin Polymer Films: Fluorescence Imaging using a Prefluorescent Radical Probe", J. Am. Chem. Soc., 125(3), 620-621) has been the subject of considerable interest.
