The laser drop technique can be used for several applications, such as photocatalysis or laser ablation of metal nanoparticles. For this purpose, we take advantage of the very high ratio of laser energy vs sample volume. In the case of laser ablation, the technique allows us to obtain AuNP where the protecting agent can be chosen as desired, as well as to attach the nanoparticles on different supports commonly used in heterogeneous catalysis.
