B.Sc. Biochemistry National University Litoral 2000
Ph.D in Chemistry National University of Cordoba 2008
Luciana C. Schmidt received her bachelor's degree in biochemistry from the National University Litoral, Argentina (2000) and her PhD in chemistry from the National University of Cordoba, Argentina (2008). She has studied sulfur compounds as intermediates in biomimetic, photochemical, and synthetic processes under the supervision of professors Alicia Peñéñory and Juan Argüello. She then moved to University of Valencia to study the use of semiconductor nanoparticles as photo-sensitizers in organic chemistry under the supervision of professor Julia Pérez-Prieto. Dr. Schmidt had a postdoctoral research fellowship at Prof. Scaiano´s group. Her research was focused on exploring reactions mediated by visible-light excitation of gold nanoparticles.
